About the Founder (Kamal & Co)
Mrs. Soumya & Mr. Sriram

Sriram, also known as Hari, is the founder of ItihasaPurana. A passionate technologist and cultural custodian, Sriram has been an entrepreneur since 1989. He heads the design team at Kamal & Co, which makes IoT devices and LED dashboards for factories and workplaces. Kamal & Co sells under the umbrella of Factory Display. Soumya, the Proprietor of Kamal & Co and his wife, serves as the operational head of the company

Sriram comes from a deeply artistic lineage—grandson of the legendary Carnatic musician Palghat Rama Bhagavatar and cousin of acclaimed Bharatanatyam dancer Kalaimamani Roja Kannan.

Sriram is the Trustee of the Rama Bhagavathar Charitable Trust, Kalpathy, which supports upcoming Carnatic musicians and the noble cause of Veda Rakshanam.

He also serves as a committee member of the Kalpathy Thyagaraja Aradhana, a sacred annual musical tradition in Palakkad that has been held uninterrupted since 1924. In 2024, alongside the committee and the people of Kalpathy, he helped organize the Centenary Celebrations of this historic festival—the longest-running Thyagaraja Aradhana outside Thiruvaiyaru.

Beyond his professional and cultural commitments, Sriram is an avid wildlife and bird photographer who travels across India and abroad to explore nature, architecture, and living traditions. He shares these experiences on Facebook.

He curates the YouTube channel Sacred Journeys, which focuses on music, temples, and India’s sacred geography.

Sriram is currently engaged in video-documenting the 100 agraharams of Palakkad, capturing their architecture, traditions, and cultural significance.

He also co-authored the book “Kalpathy Tyagabrahmam Palghat Rama Bhagavatar: Life Sketch of a Nadopasaka,” a tribute to his grandfather’s life and musical legacy.

As an offering to his dharma, he has launched the ItihasaPurana Flashcard Series—a not-for-profit initiative to bring the stories of Bharat’s epics to life through beautifully illustrated flashcards that aim to educate, inspire, and preserve our sacred heritage.
