Sumitra

Sumitra, a prominent character in Valmiki's Ramayana, was one of King Dasaratha's wives and the mother of twin sons, Lakshmana and Shatrughna. Though less emphasized than the other queens, Sumitra played a vital role in the epic. Valmiki describes her as virtuous and kind-hearted.
