Sushena

Sushena, a notable vanara chief in the Ramayana, is the father of Tara, Vali's wife, and a skilled healer. He plays a crucial role in supporting Rama's army during the battle against Ravana. Known for his deep knowledge of medicine and herbs, Sushena is instrumental in saving Lakshmana when he is critically injured during the war in Lanka.

It is Sushena who instructs Hanuman to fetch the life-saving Sanjeevani herb from the Himalayas, a remedy vital for reviving Lakshmana and other warriors. This timely advice significantly impacts the course of the battle, ensuring that Rama's forces can continue fighting.

Beyond his medical expertise, Sushena is a wise and trusted counselor to Sugriva, the vanara king, standing loyally by him through his struggles with Vali and later in the alliance with Rama. His contributions make him a respected figure in the epic.
